Business Development Manager
On behalf of our client specializing in Space, Aerospace and Defense, we are looking for a Business Development Manager to join their Athens team, reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer.
The Job:
• Own the Business Development, from proposal/bid process and opportunity identification to contract award.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, key industry players, and potential partners.
• Track and report on commercial key performance indicators, gather market intelligence, and conduct research on aerospace and defense markets to identify opportunities and threats
• Prepare and analyze data for commercial decision-making, including forecasting revenue and pipeline development, identifying new business opportunities, and supporting C-level executives in preparing and reviewing subcontracts
• Assist in developing and implementing marketing strategies. Support communication campaigns, content creation, and ensure consistent brand messaging.
• Propose corrective actions for process improvement and provide market feedback to Business Units on trends and needs within the aerospace and defense sector
• Contribute to sustaining a healthy team culture, built around the company’s core values.
Requirements
• Engineering Diploma or MSc degree (Mechanical, Aerospace, Chemical, or a related discipline) is required.
• 3-5 years of experience in proposal preparation, including R&D projects, tenders, and programs such as Horizon 2020, Horizon Europe, EDF, and ESA.
• Strong ability to transform abstract ideas into structured proposals and successful projects.
• Strong understanding of new technologies, the R&D lifecycle, and the investment fund landscape.
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences and comfortable presenting to small or large groups.
• Entrepreneurial mindset, driven by the desire to create something meaningful and passionate about making an impact.
