On behalf of our client, an IT Services Provider with international presence, we are seeking a Head of Engineering to join its team of highly skilled professionals in its Operations Center in Greece and other countries. The right incumbent will heavily involved in architecture discussions, leading teams from an engineering vision perspective as well as day to day product enhancements. They’ll be looking for you to build a strong by the book engineering culture, and at the same time understand the value of diversity in the work place.

Responsibilities

• Forming the product direction along with product management and UX manager.
• Forming the technical direction of the organization, along with senior engineers in the team.
• Ensuring that feature requests and new product areas are delivered on time, and on budget.
• Ensuring that the product is stable, adhering to strict SLAs.
• Managing the team day to day and facilitating the professional development of the team members.
• Managing academic partners and subcontractors and ensure frictionless integration between internal and external teams.
• Ensures the optimal application of engineering resources in order to meet product development and customers’ requirements
• Ensures the implementation of agile processes that support software development.
• Liaise with the CEO in recruiting activities of the engineering department in order to ensure consistency in departmental efficiency.
• Guiding engineering personnel in their duties upon request, and constantly promoting the growth of their professional skills
• Monitor KPIs and IT budgets to assess technological performance

Requirements

• BSc in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field; a graduate degree on CS and PhD is a plus
• At least 7 years of working experience in a full stack developer, hands-on and lead developer
• Strong knowledge in at least one major language: Java, C++, Golang and knowledge of web front end frameworks and languages (e.g. angular, dart, typescript)
• Knowledge of technological trends to define strategy
• Understanding of budgets and business-planning
• Ability to conduct technological architecture analyses

• Fluent in English verbal & written
